Luczka, Benjamin

Benjamin Luczka, 81, of Center Township, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, in the Vencor Hospital, Imperial.

Born May 26, 1919, in Aliquippa, a son of the late Alexander and Mary Mazur Luczka, he was a retired barge inspector for the south mill department of LTV Steel, Aliquippa, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Schwarz Luczka; a son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin E. and Catherine Luczka, Suwanee, Ga.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sally and David Hornaman, Chesapeake, Va.; Bonnie and Robert D'Jovin, Salisbury Mills, N.Y., and Mary and Frank Messina, Eldersburg, Md.; six grandchildren, Marchel Johnson, Brian Hornaman, Janelle Luczka, Amy Wiebold, and Diana and Suzanne Messina; three brothers, Ralph Lasky, Aliquippa, and Alex Lasky and Carl Lasky, both of Center Township, and three sisters, Frances Rozycki, Aliquippa; Mary Hacker, New Brighton, and Helen Sturle, Aliquippa.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Lasky, and a sister, Josephine Blazakis.

Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the HUNTSMAN ALIQUIPPA FUNERAL HOME, 2345 Mill St., where a service will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Wayne Taylor, pastor of the Bunker Hill Community Church, will officiate.

Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

Military honors will be provided by the Beaver County Special Unit.

Memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to the Bunker Hill Community Church, 170 Pleasant Drive, Aliquippa, Pa. 15001.
